Internship
The ARCHIVE Institute will offer internships in four areas for the Spring, Summer and Fall 2007 semesters:
Design Internship. Interns will assist in coordinating design projects. This may include working with local consultants across disciplines to arrive at innovative and cost efficient solutions. Daily tasks may involve developing and testing creative strategies for submission as build proposals.
Qualifications: Academic training or experience in the field of architecture, design or planning is desirable. In addition, proficiency with AutoCAD(or other CAD programs) and 3D max or Rhino is preferred.
Development Internship. Interns will be expected to provide administrative and grant research support and will have the opportunity to learn about nonprofit fundraising, grant applications, and direct mail programs. Your duties would include: assisting with direct mail, data entry, grant research, grant-writing, and fundraising.
Qualifications: Should have an interest in fundraising and nonprofit management; prior experience with fundraising at any level is desirable, but not required; familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel required; and knowledge of Microsoft Access preferred.
Media and Communications Internship. As a member of the media and communications division, you will be expected to provide administrative and editorial support. Duties include: assisting with proofreading; assisting with media/press outreach; layout and design of promotional material for awareness campaign; website maintenance as needed.
Qualifications: Detail-oriented individual with good writing and computer skills; knowledge of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator; Quark Xpress or other desktop publishing software preferred; familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel required; layout and web design experience with HTML, Flash or Dreamweaver a plus.
Research Internship. An intern on this team will be expected to provide administrative and research support to researchers. Duties include: literature reviews; assisting with data collection; designing charts, graphs, and tables; and filing. Qualifications: Strong organizational skills; good interpersonal skills; interest in public policy, public health, architecture, design or planning; or experience with statistics, economics, or social sciences through coursework. Familiarity with Microsoft Word and Excel required.
The ARCHIVE Institute seeks interns who are highly organized and detail oriented while also possessing strong communications and interpersonal skills. You have the drive to excel in all situations and at all times. Most importantly, each intern will have the ability to work as part of a decentralized team while completing their tasks in a non traditional work environment. Familiarity with international public health, architecture or planning will be of benefit.

The Fall Internships run from September to December, and the Spring Internships from January to May. Starting and ending dates are flexible. These are unpaid, part-time positions. We ask that Interns work at least 10 hours per week.
